“Adjusting to Change in the Middle of a Pandemic”

Hi Guys!

I took a week off blogging because I am in the middle of a transition in life. Feels like I’m always transitioning. I use to hate that about myself and my life. Moving around, starting over and building new relationships. How scary was it for me a little girl entering new schools, neighborhoods, homes and environments. I had to learn to adjust. I don’t believe as a child I truly connected with friends until I moved to Bloomington, Illinois. I lived there most of my childhood. That’s when I began to have stable friendships and adjusting from all the moves. I’ve grown to understand life is all about transitions and to accept the changes all around me.

I lived in many different states from Mississippi to Iowa. I didn’t realize until I became a adult that was unstable. Yet, this instability helped me to adjust to the many changes and obstacles life brings. As a child I knew I would be in a location for the time being and then I would move again. The cycle continued even in my adulthood. I’ve lived in Atlanta, Kentucky, Tennessee, Florida and a few international locations. I’ve learned to adapt, adjust and strive. Now, I crave stability! I learned stability starts in the mind and manifest outward. I also know stability, consistency and discipline are key to establishing a prosperous life.

For many people adapting and adjusting to change is abnormal. It’s difficult to navigate because your trying to figure out what’s next. Don’t worry about the what’s next worry about the what’s now! What step NOW can I take to make my life better for myself and my family. What am I in control of at this very moment. Let me help you with that! You are in control of your happiness! You are in control of your mental health! You are in control of your physical health! You are in control of your positive attitude! All changes are NOT doom and gloom. Your attitude toward the change determines the outcome. You are in control of your prayer life! You are in control of you! That’s how you adjust during a pandemic. Focusing on you! Growing up I didn’t have these tools so life was often difficult because I was adjusting with change from the outside. Not the inside out!

One of the biggest changes I had in my life was moving to Thailand. I had to adjust to a new country, new language, new culture and different religion. I had to find ways to get food, transportation, a place to stay without speaking the same language. After a few months I learned to adapt with the change. I began to go to the temples and learn more about their religious practices and beliefs. I began to try some of the local foods by pointing to pictures. I negotiated a deal for a condo rental by having a translator who spoke the language. Once I figured out a way to communicate without speaking the language I began to strive! I began to meet new people and really enjoy living on a land I was foreign to.

Adjusting to change is not always a bad thing. Sometimes God put obstacles and challenges in our way to induce a change. He knows us best and he knows exactly what we need to take us to the next level. Many are uncomfotable in the world right now. Sometimes you have to get uncomfortable to be comfortable and operate in your purpose. Let’s keep it real you CAN’T hand down a JOB to your children. You don’t want your JOB and they don’t either. Maybe the Job loss was God saying…It’s time for us to adjust to the change all around us. It’s time to look for opportunities to help us grow and find our purpose so our children will have a inheritance handed down.

I pray that you BLOSSOM in this season into the BEAUTIFUL human being God has created you to be. Focus on your inside world and not the out. You will began to adjust with the change and STRIVE in the middle of a pandemic. It all starts with you! OUR BEST DAYS are AHEAD! #StayBlessed and #Encouraged
