Yes guys! That’s right! I had an opportunity to spend an entire day with OPRAH. The first Black women Billionaire!!!! Literally, one of the BEST days of my life!!!

Last year 2020. I saw Oprah was going on tour and I knew I had to be there. I just returned to America from living overseas and I needed clarity on what was next for my life. Ironically the name of her tour was “My life in Focus”. That’s ALL I needed to know!
The first thing I did was go to Oprah's website and checked out the different locations she was going to be touring. I noticed she was going to Sunrise, Florida (Ft. Lauderdale area) and I lived in Tampa. It was only a 3 hour drive. I saw tickets ranging from $72- a few thousand. I just needed to be in the ROOM. I purchased a ticket for about $85 the seat was a bit higher in the Convention Center, but that didn’t matter to me. I wanted to hear the knowledge from a Black woman who started from nothing to become a Billionaire in a country where Blacks aren’t valued as human beings.
Fast Forward to the day of the Event. I drove alone to Sunrise, FL and stayed at a new Comfort Inn and Suits that had recently been built. I was so EXCITED!!!! I don’t think I even slept the night before. That morning I got up and went downstairs to the hotel lobby and it was a group of women standing waiting for the shuttle to take us to the Convention Center. Myself and the ladies had a wonderful conversation about our love for Oprah and WHY we were there. As we arrived at the Convention Center we saw thousands of women in various lines. As I looked around I noticed the diversity of the women. Caucasian, Asian, African American, Hispanic, Caribean, European. You name it they were there! It felt so good to be around liked minded women from various cultures and backgrounds. Oprah bring out everyone and she brings out the BEST in everyone!!!The excitement and energy was high! We were all expecting something. Me, I was expecting clarity on which way my life should go. I had my note pad and pen ready as I always do. I KNOW their is a Blue print to success and if anyone has the answers. It’s Oprah!
Their was merchandise everywhere, tons of staff and security. The staff was so friendly! I came to the event by myself and they took pictures of me in front of Oprah's back drop. I then began to walk toward the direction of my seat. I went up 2 elevators so my seat was a bit higher, but I was in the ROOM!!!! I looked around in AMAZEMENT! Oprah packed the venue !!!! It was 10,000 women in the arena!!!! Oprah created a culture of collectiveness with a shared belief that we ALL can become a greater version of ourselves. We can’t reach our goals and dreams alone. We need each other as a human race and as women. Oprah had gifts on every seat for ALL of us! One of the gifts was a workbook that helped guide us from where we are at that very moment to where we want to be. She even went through every single page of the workbook with us. I just recently looked at my workbook and noticed so much growth in me from last year. Thanks Oprah!
I literally wanted to CRY when I saw Oprah on the stage. I remember the standing ovation she received from the audience it was very heart felt. She had various special guest including Lady Gaga, Gail King, Tamela Manns and more. Oprah was very CLEAR about us getting our life in FOCUS! Not one time did she talk about Money. Well, one time she did and that was to say EARN everyday Dollar and sign your OWN CHECKS! For me, that was absolutely enough said.
We learned so much that day about being well. Being well is not just about Finances but every area of our lives. She discussed physical wellness and moving your body to have good health and strength. Mental Health was emphasized by Lady Gala. Oprah also made sure to touch on getting silent and being present in the moment through meditation and getting in tune with your spirit. Spiritual health and Wisdom is very important!
Oprah had a very intimate sit down interview with Lady Gala about mental health. I never knew Lady Gaga went through depression or she was dealing with a unbearable health condition. She always showed up and performed! It just shows you never know w

hat anyone is going through no matter how much fame, popularity or money they have. We are ALL human who go through life challenges. Lady Gaga was the reason I went to seek a mental health professional because she emphasized their is help out there and it’s nothing to be ashamed about. I have been through a lot of trauma and have had my own battles with depression, anxiety and needed healing. Thank you Gaga your story it truly impacted my life.
As the day went on. We all took a break for lunch. A great lunch from Panera that Oprah and her team provided for us. I was shocked because I didn’t realize lunch would be provided. I also didn’t realize we would be spending the entire day with OPRAH! Yes, 8 hours with a women who has sat down with Nelson Mandela, built a school in Africa, one of the biggest philanthropist in the world, have a media empire she's built for over 25 years interviewing leaders like Michelle Obama and Celebs like Tyler Perry. I was truly Blessed that day. My note pad is filled with notes! I go back and look at from time to time.
Lastly, She informed us to ALWAYS show up because people will be there waiting for you. I decided from that day forward to show up for myself and for others. Showing up and staying consistent has been an area of my life that needed work. I took what she said very personal and since then I can see a difference in my life just by showing up. By the end of my day with Oprah I was very clear I wanted to focus on self-love, self-care and I knew every other area of my life would prosper. It all started with me!
My day with Oprah is a day I will NEVER forget the wisdom and knowledge I not only gained about life and being well, but about being a woman of influence and using your influence for the greater good of society. I’m even more grateful because who knew a pandemic would happen and we would not be able to go to LIVE events. You should always take advantage of opportunities when you have them. Don’t wait because we don’t know what tomorrow holds. As I always say our BEST days are ahead. Stay Blessed and Encouraged!
